Version 1 of the Extended Validation (EV) Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate policy. Defines the baseline rules for EV certificates issued in compliance with the CA/Browser Forum Extended Validation (EV) Guidelines, including subject information requirements and maximum validity period restrictions.
Status: registered but unused. No certificate has been issued under this policy version; when activated, record the maximum validity period and the subject field requirements in the CPS. The unused state shall be re-verified at each revision of this file.
Recommendation: allocate a new version node when the EV Guidelines change materially, so that issued certificates remain describable by the version in force at issuance time.
