Certificate type identifier for Domain Validated (DV) Secure Sockets Layer / Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) server certificates. Only domain ownership is validated and organizational identity is not validated; it applies to encrypted website communication with a short validity period.
Note: this node identifies the certificate type, which is different from the certificate policy 1.3.6.1.4.1.59719.5.1.100 under the same number; the type identifier is a TsingYao internal classification label, while the policy identifier is carried in the certificatePolicies extension.
Status: registered but unused. No certificate profile or CPS document has referenced this type identifier; when used, record the mapping between the type identifier and the policy identifier in the registry. The unused state shall be re-verified at each revision of this file.
Recommendation: always issue certificates of this type together with the corresponding policy identifier, so that an external relying party can still determine the applicable policy.
